Director of Program Services

Positions Available:  Director of Program Services

Job Status:  Exempt/ Full Time                                                           

Primary Function: This position is responsible for the management of staff and program(s) at several CMS School sites.  He/she will work with VP, Program Operations, as well as CMS and community partners to develop, manage, and evaluate programs provided by CIS students and their families.  This person will also work closely with VP, Program Operations and VP, Finance & HR to provide consistent direction in the areas of policy and planning and Human Resources in hiring, evaluation, benefits and compensation of assigned staff.  In addition, this person will work to support the overall value and mission of CIS. 

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Ø  Oversee and manage program services provided to CIS participants and families at CMS school sites or other off-site locations; developing new CIS program components while maintaining an awareness of available community resources

Ø  Work closely with principals to ensure open lines of communication are in place to build strong relationships between Site Coors. and staff

Ø  Build and lead Site Coors. to collaborate with school administration/personnel in the coordination of enrichment activities

Ø  Work with Program Operations Director to build and maintain linkage with appropriate human service agencies

Ø  Work with Program Directors to refine and implement system to ensure documentation of CIS activities/program services delivered to all CIS  students and families

Ø  Ensure all assigned staff participate in appropriate training and professional development

Ø  Communicate with CIS Central Office personnel and board, providing written or verbal reports, as needed

Ø  Facilitate staff meetings and summer staff development training with other Program Directors

Ø  Assist in planning budgets for program area/special events; monitor budget through review of program expenditures

Ø  Recruit, hire, retain staff following all CIS policies and procedures

Ø  Manage employee performance evaluation process and employee performance throughout the year utilizing performance management policies consistently

Ø  Coach and develop staff to positively influence career development and build talent

Job Requirements: 

Ø  Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in education/agency counseling, social work and other related fields

Ø  3-years of successful program management in one of the areas above with 2-years of leadership and/or experience supervising staff

Ø  Exceptional oral and written communication skills, as well as professional experience in presentations to large and small groups

Ø  Effective analytical, planning, and problem solving skills

Ø  Knowledge of Youth Behavioral Issues/Intervention Programs within CMS/Community programs and resources available

Ø  Prefer Bi-lingual candidate with ability to read/write/speak English and Spanish
