United Way of the Central Carolinas has launched a pilot initiative involving 15 local United Way agencies, including Communities In Schools, with the primary goal of improving the high school graduation rate over the next 10 years.
This "Collective Impact" project is being funded with a $200,000 grant from The Wells Fargo Foundation. A main focus of the project will be to create a shared data system, developed by UNC Charlotte’s Urban Institute, that will enable the 15 partner agencies to compare students’ information and better track their success.
